Cecca Whetnall

I’m Cecca Whetnall, an artist and pattern designer from London, living in sunny Bournemouth on the south coast of the UK. I create repeat patterns and digital illustrations and I also love painting and printmaking.

I love the magic of pattern design and I enjoy creating fun filled, illustrative patterns featuring plants and animals. I have always had a fascination for dinosaurs, so they often pop up in my designs.

I mainly work digitally in my design work but usually start by sketching on paper. Much like the effect of a linocut print, I love the graphic flatness of vector shapes combined with the organic quality of hand-drawn lines.

My fabric and wallpapers sell internationally and have been licenced for products including dresses and childrens clothing.

I've exhibited my paintings and original prints at Bankside gallery in London and at galleries in Poole, Bournemouth, Winchester, Southampton and Hastings. And my artwork has been featured on the cover of Dorset Life magazine and on the cover (and inside pages) of a beautiful book about Portrait painting (Portrait Revolution).

In my spare time I enjoy walking in the New Forest or by the coast and crafting or playing lego with my two young sons.
